In a new twist in the divorce of Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams, a judge has ordered the TV star to pay his soon to be ex-spouse, Aryn Drake-Lee, the sum of $50,000 in spousal support and $50,000 in child support per month.
According to reports, the judge cited Williams’s extraordinarily high monthly income as the reason for the increase. The actor is reported to make $521,000 per month. The couple was married five years and share two children, one son and one daughter. However, the order for increased support is temporary, pending a final settlement to be agreed upon by the couple, or a final order issued by the court should they fail to reach an agreement.
Attempting to navigate a divorce is a stressful situation for anyone. However, when there are high assets or income at stake, there are usually many more complicated issues that will arise as negotiations are made. Child support and spousal support are only two of those issues. Some other matters that are likely to arise are disbursements of homes, cars, accounts, or debts. Regarding children, a visitation schedule should be part of an agreement as well, taking into consideration schools, holiday schedules, and future education expenses.
Obtaining the guidance of a divorce attorney can mean the difference in quality of life for both yourself and your children as time goes on. An attorney can communicate directly with your spouse’s attorney to negotiate terms that are in the best interest of all parties involved, including the children.
